TURTLE POWER - The female wood turtle picture above is about six-and-a-half inches long. They can get close to 80 years old and don’t reach breeding maturity until about 12-15 years of age. Below, Scott and Peggy Stalheim scan the water for wood turtles at a nesting site placed by Turtles for Tomorrow situated near Medford. The location is monitored by the Stalheims together with volunteer Cathy Maurer.
