CRASH REPORT
On July 25 at 7:15 a.m., a vehicle operated by Susan Gasper, 44, of Rib Lake, was traveling southbound on CTH C. According to the crash report, Gasper admitted to dozing off, which caused her to cross the centerline and continue into the eastern ditch, Gasper’s vehicle traveled a short distance in the ditch before striking a tree on the driver’s side. Gasper was able to maneuver out of the ditch. The vehicle sustained disabling damage and was removed at a later time. Gasper was cited for operating left of center.
Two vehicle crashes
On July 17, at 4:50 p.m., a vehicle operated by Elmer Olson, 71, of Medford, was legally parked facing eastbound in a parking space located at 215 S. 8th Street in Medford. A vehicle operated by David M. Salazar Saurez, 65, of Medford, drove into the same parking lot and attempted to park facing eastbound in a space located southwest of the Olson vehicle. As Salazar Saurez was pulling in Olson began backing out of the parking space in a southwest direction striking the front passenger side of the Salazar Saurez vehicle. According to the crash report, Olson stated he did not see Salazar Saurez’s vehicle pulling into the parking space. He said there was no new damage to his vehicle, so he believed the hitch receiver may have been what struck Salazar Saurez’s vehicle.
On July 22, at 10:49 a.m., a vehicle operated by Sally Schutten, 72, of Gilman backed into a parked vehicle operated by Balaraju Policetty, 55, of River Falls.
Car vs. Deer
On July 21 at 4:45 a.m., a vehicle operated by Ryan Page, 45, of Ogema, struck a deer while southbound on CTH Q in the town of Medford. The vehicle sustained minor damage.
On July 15 at 4:48 a.m., a vehicle operated by Noelle Neuberger, 31, of Withee, was northbound on CTH DD in the town of Holway. According to the crash report, multiple deer crossed the road and Neuberger swerved to avoid them. She struck a deer and stopped in the center line of CTH DD. The vehicle was pulled to the east shoulder of CTH DD. The vehicle was towed due to disabling damage. The driver has suspected minor injures.
On July 26 at 11:12 a.m., a dump truck operated by William Cahoon, 36, of Medford, was traveling westbound on CTH A nearing the CTH E intersection. Witnesses described a red full-size truck had been southbound on CTH E and had come to the stop sign controlled intersection. The truck began to enter the intersection but stopped. Cahoon swerved and entered the south ditch of CTH A and overturned. Cahoon was not wearing a safety belt and was ejected from the dump truck. The southbound vehicle proceeded through the intersection after Cahoon had passed the intersection and the units did not collide. According to the crash report, the southbound unit has not been identified. Cahoon was airlifted from the scene and taken to Aspirus Wausau Hospital where he is being treated for serious injuries. The dump truck was towed due to disabling damage. Cahoon was cited for operating a motor vehicle without insurance.
