Funding offered for general uses to strengthen areas
Compeer Financial’s Fund for Rural America, the Farm Credit cooperative’s giving program, is now accepting applications for the General Use Grant program. General Use Grants fund initiatives and organizations, whose work enriches agriculture and rural America, aligning with Compeer Financial’s mission.
Compeer concentrates their giving in Compeer Financial’s territory, and on those programs that fit strategically with the intent of clients and their communities in which they live, including Chippewa County.
In order to be considered for funding, requests for support must align with their mission, as well as one of the following focus areas:
• Education – Educating young, beginning or future farmers.
• Environment – Maintaining or improving the quality of the rural environment.
• Technology – Supporting the advancement and utilization of technology, for the benefit of farmers and rural communities.
• Quality of Life – Programs or initiatives that enhance the quality of life, for farmers and rural communities.
Since 2018, Compeer has awarded 519 General Use Grants, in the amount of more than $2.9 million.
Funding, up to $10,000, per year, is available to organizations. Applications for grants will be accepted through May 31, and all applicants will be notified of their status, four to six weeks after the deadline.
