Jeanette Erikson

Jeanette Marie Erikson, age 79, of Colby, passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 17, 2026, under the tender care of Compassus Hospice.

The daughter of Alvin and Lila (Hardrath) Frane, Jeanette was born on May 29, 1947, in Colby. Raised on the family farm, she developed a strong work ethic at an early age and especially loved working in the fields alongside her family. Jeanette worked at Land O'Lakes for more than 40 years, building a career marked by dedication, dependability and pride in a job well done.

Jeanette took great pride in her home and enjoyed caring for it herself. Her beautiful rose bushes were a true testament of her green thumb and love of gardening. Her love for canning jams and baking in the kitchen brought her much joy in creating a warm and welcoming space for her family and friends. She also expressed her artistic side through embroidery, creating dish towels that were truly one of a kind with intricate details. Her love of travel and adventure took her to Switzerland, Spain, Hawaii, Mexico, Alaska and Texas.

She was strong willed and fiercely independent but above all Jeanette cherished her family. Jeanette took pride in her children, grandchildren and great-grand children, never missing a football game or school concert. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Jeanette is survived by three sons: Jim (Dale), Darrell (Tina) and Brian (Kristi); six grandchildren: Nathan, Amber, Whitney, Peyton, Logan and Jenna; as well as eight greatgrandchildren. She is further survived by one sister; Mary Jane (Steve).

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Lila and one brother, Denny.

A funeral service will held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford. Pastor Joe Bridger will be presiding. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Interment to follow at St. Mary Cemetery.
