Judith Andrew

Judith “Judi” M. Andrew, age 80, of Colby passed away unexpectedly on Friday, Aug. 28, 2026, at the Marshfield Medical Center.

A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2026, at the Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford. Inurnment to follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Colby. Family and friends may greet the family starting at 3 p.m. until the time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.

Judi was born on July 30, 1946, the daughter of Norman and Erma (Stargardt) Kommer Sr. in Marshfield. She attended Spencer schools. On June 26, 1965, Judi was united in marriage to Gerald Andrew. He passed away in 1969. She met the love of her life, Richard Young, sharing almost 40 years.

Judi worked at Figi’s, Phillips Plastics, Abby Café and the Reelem Inn. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Spencer. Judi enjoyed gardening, outdoors, foam painting, bowling and socializing. Most especially, she loved her family time on the Willow and cherished her family, especially her grandchildren.

Judi is survived by her four daughters: Lisa (Steve) Jarchow; granddaughters: Natasha Jarchow and Tanalee (Jason) Luedtke and greatgrandchildren: Jaylee, Jazlyn and Norlan; Lynn (Ken Klimpke) Cichon; grandchildren: Cord (Cassi) Andrew, Torri (Korey) Gadke, Cortney (Cody) Rustick and greatgrandchildren: Madylyn, Hunter, Izzebella, Brynleigh, Kadyn, Karsyn, Harvey, Kevin and Ruth; Angel (Jesse) Landwehr and grandchildren: Jordan Landwehr and Ashley Landwehr (Brian); April (Rod) Smazal; grandchildren: Kylie Smazal, Tristen Smazal (Ava), Brandi (Dave) Schmidt and Jordan Smazal (Geronimo); greatgrandchildren: Jackson, Levi, Piper, Gabriel and one on the way. She is further survived by four siblings: Norman (Virginia) Kommer Jr., Jayne Gibbs, Marie (Steve) Zinsli and Gayle (Tom) Nelson; step-son, Richard (Karen) Young, Jr. and family; stepdaughter, Renee Haberland; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gerald; Richard Young in 2003; close friend, Roger Wellman in 2024; two infant brothers: Walter and John, her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ralph and Rosie Andrew; two brothers-in-law: James Andrew and Tom Gibbs; a sister-in-law, Janice Andrew; Richard Young’s parents, William and Evelyn Young; a step-son, Randy (Marla) Young and a step-son-in-law, Fred Haberland.
