Darlene Dora (Theisen) Koob
Darlene Dora (Theisen) Koob, 89, Red Wing, Minn., passed away Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2026.
Darlene was born to Harold and Laura (Roycraft) Theisen, in Cadott, May 17, 1936.
She grew up on a dairy farm and was the oldest of six daughters.
Darlene graduated from Cadott High School.
She married Dale Schultz, in 1955; they moved to Red Wing, Minn., in 1965, and later divorced.
Darlene had four children: Julie, Randall, Rhonda and Lisa.
She worked for Paul Lawrence Construction and Realty, for 45 years.
In the late 1990s, she moved to Zumbrota, Minn., with her partner, Cork Falk, who passed away in January of 2023. She then returned to Red Wing, Minn., to be closer to family.
She was a civic leader and was involved in many organizations. She served as the Red Wing Area Chamber of Commerce president, was a member of United Lutheran Church Council, Red Wing Kiwanis Club and served on the Red Wing City Planning Commission.
Darlene enjoyed cooking, entertaining, playing cards, traveling, flowers and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her daughter β Julie Gibson; son β Randall (Jodie) Schultz; eight grandchildren and their families, including 10 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; her sister β Joann Jacobson; brother-in-law β Virgil Green; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughters β Rhonda Schultz and Lisa (Brian) Linder; sisters β Marion (Bill) Naron, Kathryn Wolfe, Betty Green and Pat (John) Rutten; and her partner β Cork Falk.
Services are at 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 17, at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel in Red Wing, Minn. Visitation is one hour prior to the service.
A reception follows, after the service. A service takes place at Oakwood Cemetery, at a later date.
Memorials are preferred to Moments Hospice. Arrangements made by Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel.
