Harold Eugene Knox
Harold Eugene Knox, 95, Holcombe, passed away peacefully, at home, Saturday, Oct. 18, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Harold was born April 30, 1930, in Staples, Minn., to Gerald and Lillian (Fleisher) Knox.
He attended Staples Area Schools and in 1953, was drafted into the U.S. Army, during the Korean Conflict, proudly serving in Germany.
Harold married Lorraine (Knosalla) Knox, in 1957, in Staples, Minn. Together, they moved to Lublin, where they raised 10 children. After Lorraine’s passing in 1977, Harold married Elaine (Tomczak) Knox, later that same year, in Cornell.
Throughout his life, Harold worked in several trades, but found his greatest passion in farming and mechanics. He was happiest in his garage, where he could often be found repairing lawn mowers and snow blowers, for neighbors and friends.
Harold enjoyed farming, fishing, cheering for the Packers, playing cards, watching westerns and listening to country music. He was especially fond of the card game “500,” often saying that anyone joining the family had to learn to play.
Above all, Harold cherished time spent with his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family and friends. His love, humor and wisdom will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
