June Audrey (Anderson) Velie

June Audrey (Anderson) Velie went home with her Lord and Savior, Sunday, Aug. 17, 2025, in Eau Claire. She was 93 years old.

June was born June 20, 1932, in St. Cloud, Minn., to Gunnar and Imelda Anderson. Her father came from Sweden, and she was very proud of her Swedish heritage.

She married Edward “Bud” Velie, June 13, 1953, and they were married for 64 years, before Bud’s death.

They were involved in Christian ministry and also farmed together, with their family.

She was a wonderful cook and was known to be able to make a meal from “nothing.” Her children and grandchildren loved her fried fish, and she loved to eat walleye.

June loved books and reading, and she owned a Christian bookstore, where she met many people, who became good friends. She was very hospitable and hosted many people in her home. She loved to play piano and sing.

She is survived by her seven children – Kathy (John) Ailie, Keith (Linda) Velie, Kitty (Steve) Mitchell, Kenny (Karla) Velie, Kevin (Elizabeth) Velie, and her twins – Karla (Andy) Kauffman and Kay (Tom) Bradt; 35 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; her brother – Guy Anderson; and her sister – Karin Woller.

She was preceded in death by her husband – Bud; her parents – Gunnar and Imelda; and daughter-in-law – Wendy Velie.
