Barbara J. Kane

Barbara J. Kane, 82, Chippewa Falls, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at home, with family at her side, in care of Mayo Hospice, following a courageous battle with colon cancer.

Barbara was born Aug. 11, 1942, to John and Alvina (Schultz) Fasbender, of Jim Falls.

She was employed at Ron’s IGA, LaGranders, Pabichs, Pactiv and picked ginseng.

Barbara enjoyed playing cards, knitting, baking, planting flowers, and spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by her children – David Kane Sr., Loretta Holland (significant other, Kurt Misfeldt), Debra Lewis, Leo (Missy) Kane III and Brian Kane; many grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; three great-greatgrandchildren; three brothers – LaVerne, Ed and John Fasbender; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents – John and Alvina Fasbender; son – James Kane; daughter – Tracy Kane; granddaughter – Jennifer Kane; ex-husband – Leo “Sam” Kane Jr.; siblings – Diane, Dorothy, Virginia, Ellen, Emily, Maida, Maritta, Caroline, Lawrence and Robert; and many nieces and nephews.

A service of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, June 5, at Leiser Funeral Home in Cadott, with Deacon Ned Willkom officiating. Interment will follow the service, at the Bohemian National Cemetery, in the Town of Arthur.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m., until the time of services, 11 a.m., Thursday, at the funeral home.
