Timothy “Tim” James Goettl, 65, Cornell, passed away peacefully, Monday, June 15, 2026, at home, with family at his side, following a tough battle with cancer.

Tim was born in Chippewa Falls, to Harold and Delaine Goettl, Sept. 10, 1960.

He married Tammy Ward, Dec. 1, 1979. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Drywood. They had three boys and were married just short of 46 years.

Tim was an extremely hard worker and a loving husband, dad and grandpa.

He enjoyed working various jobs, from running the family farm and building windows, then becoming a journeyman electrician for 25 years, before retiring in 2020.

Besides work, he enjoyed many things: drinking an ice cold Leinies Original, listening to music (30 years attending Hodag), dancing (known to be the best two-stepper around), singing ( Chug-a-lug and Gitarzan), camping (at Winter Haven), the Green Bay Packers, deer hunting and sausage making.

Most of all, he enjoyed making memories with everyone who knew him, memories that will be carried on, for years to come.

He is survived by his wife – Tammy; sons – Jonathon (Gena) Goettl, Jesse (Katie) Goettl and Jeremy (Anastasia) Goettl; grandchildren – Ethan, Lauryn, Brady, Connor, Josephine, Adrian, Audrey and Bronson; sisters – Rhonda (Jim) Kimball and Brenda (Brett) Derringer; a brother – Brian (Brenda) Goettl; and several cousins; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents – Harold and Delaine Goettl; in-laws – Albert and Joyce Ward; and many other family members.

A Mass of Christian burial was held, at 11 a.m., Monday, June 22, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Drywood, with Father Eric Linzmaier officiating. Interment was in the St. Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery in Drywood.

Leiser Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Cadott, is assisting the family. 185455
