Betty J. Quednow, age 94, of Rib Lake, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 16, 2026, in Rib Lake, under the care of her family and Hope Hospice & Palliative Care. Betty was born on April 15, 1931, in Rib Lake, to the late Ernst and Gertrude (Thone) Gerstberger. She attended Fawn Valley Grade School and later the Rib Lake School District. From a young age, Betty helped her family on the farm. On Sept. 24, 1955, she was united in marriage to Anton “Tony” Quednow. Together, they built a life centered around family and farming. Tony preceded her in death in 1993.

Betty began working at Gem Products Shoe Factory in Rib Lake in 1950. She later took time away from her career to raise her family, returning to the factory where she continued her work until her retirement in 1987. In addition to her work and farming responsibilities, Betty also lovingly babysat for family and friends over the years. She found great joy in life’s simple pleasures. She enjoyed participating in cribbage tournaments, playing cards and Yahtzee, and cheering on the Milwaukee Brewers. She will be remembered as a kind, caring, and wonderful person, someone who was deeply loved by all who knew her. She was a faithful member of St. John Lutheran Church in Rib Lake.

Survivors include her sons, David Quednow and Thomas Quednow; her daughter, Sharon Quednow; her grandchildren, Curtis (Christy) Quednow and Jessica (Jason) Ernst; and her great-grandchildren, Michael, Kiana, and Hank.
