1956-2026

John Gary Jacobson, 69 years of age, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2026 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family. Born Dec. 11, 1956 in Black River Falls, John was the son of Gary and Barbara (Frost) Jacobson. John graduated from Alma Center, Lincoln High School in 1975. He married Renee Bergerson, the love of his life, June 27 , 1987, in Upper Pigeon Creek Lutheran Church. Their journey led them to adventures in Humbird, Rexford, Mont., Gordon, Neb., and Medford.

After growing up on his parents dairy farm in Humbird, John bought and operated a dairy farm of his own just down the road from his parents, from late 1970’s to 2002. He also worked as a crop farmer in Hay Springs, Neb., saltwater disposal operator in the oil fields of Watford City, N.D., and a production line worker at Marathon Cheese in Medford.

He enjoyed his Oliver tractors, hunting, fishing, and riding snowmobiles with family and friends.

He will be remembered for his hardworking, friendly spirit and his faith in Jesus.

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” - 2 Timothy 4:7 John was preceded in death by his wife, Renee (Bergerson) Jacobson; father, Gary Jacobson; sister, Rhonda (Jacobson) Junge; brother-in-law, Dean Junge; father-in-law, Ove Bergerson; and mother-in-law, Norma (Nelson) Bergerson.

He leaves behind a rich legacy, survived by his mother, Barbara (Frost) Jacobson; sister, Rozanne (Jacobson) Voorhies; six children, Micah (Shara) Jacobson, Katie (Namen) Donnelly, Nikki (Cody) Campbell, Corey (Brooke) Jacobson, Sarah Jacobson, Ethan Jacobson; eleven grandchildren, Ezekiel Jacobson, Micaiah Jacobson, Mackenzie Jacobson, Peyton Jacobson, Halen Donnelly, Hiram Donnelly, Heston Donnelly, Anika Campbell, Freya Campbell, Cora Jacobson, and Kinley Jacobson; brothers-in-law, Rick (Tammy) Bergerson, Russell Bergerson, and Ryan (Amelia) Bergerson; along with many uncles; aunts; cousins; nieces; and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to a graveside service at 11 a.m. on Feb. 28 at the East Lawn Cemetery on East Limits Road, Alma Center, followed by lunch at Grace Lutheran Fellowship Hall, 200 W. Main Street, Alma Center, WI 54611.
