Caroline Colby

1933-2026

Caroline Colby, age 92, of Abbotsford, passed away peacefully Friday, Feb. 13, 2026 at House of Dove. Per Caroline’s wishes there will not be a funeral service.

Caroline was born on June 24, 1933 in Rockford, Ill. to Peter and Amanda DeStafano. She later moved to Medford. She attended Medford High School and graduated in 1951.

She married Bill Colby, Jr. on Sept. 22, 1951. She worked at the Colby Nursing Home and later at Intern Healthcare in Green Bay.

She returned to Abbotsford after her husband’s death. She liked to read and work in her garden. Caroline also enjoyed her fur babies, Mousie, Blackie and Baby.

She is survived by one son, Stephen Colby; four grandchildren, Lisa Colby, of Madison, Matt Colby, of Abbotsford, Trisha Swantes, of Dorchester, and William Colby, of Abbotsford. She is further survived by many great-grandchildren; and special friend, Sue Frane.

Caroline was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William; one son, Mark A. Colby; and two grandchildren, Paul and Eric Colby.
