Dorothy A. Frankki, 85, of Medford, passed away on Friday, Nov. 28, 2025 at Clark County Rehab and Living Center, surrounded by family, under the care of Hope Hospice. Funeral services for Dorothy took place at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2025 at the Independent Apostolic Lutheran Church in Ogema with Minister Mike Peterson officiating. Burial followed at Levitt Creek Cemetery in the town of Hill.
Visitation took place at Hemer-Pickerign Funeral Home on Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2025 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Visitation continued at the church on Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2025 from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m.
Dorothy was born on Oct. 28, 1940 to Ludwig and Laura (Brucklacher) Skauge in Sioux Falls, S.D. She graduated from St. Croix Falls High School in 1958. She married James Frankki on Nov. 5, 1960 in Dresser. They lived in Minneapolis for 9 years, before moving to Medford in 1967. Together they raised three children, James, Perry, and Cindy.
Dorothy did everything with a smile on her face. She enjoyed cooking, playing Scrabble, traveling and volunteering. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.
Dorothy is survived by her husband of 65 years, James; children, Perry Frankki, of River Falls, and Cindy (Mark) Ganter, of Coon Rapids, Minn.; grandchildren, Joshua Frankki, Samantha (Mike) Berling, Leah (Dennis) Gossel, and Haile Frankki; greatgrandchildren, Jaxon, Grayson, Balor, Devin, Marlee, and Elijah; siblings, Marge Fiene and Lil Folz. Dorothy is further survived by other family, friends, and brothers and sisters in faith.
Dorothy was preceded in death her parents, Ludwig and Laura; son, James; siblings, Orville Mikkelson and Mary Jo Kast; brother-in-law, Stan Folz.
Dorothy’s family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff at Clark County Rehab and Hope Hospice for their care.
