Mary Baxter

Mary M. (Lang) Baxter, ge 67, of Spencer, passed away in the evening hours of Sunday, April 7, 2024 at House of the Dove in Marshfield surrounded by her family and church family, after a long 2-1/2 year battle with cancer.

Mary was born on May 12, 1956, in Wausau, the daughter of Gilbert and Lucy (Waskowiak) Lang. She was a graduate of Marathon High School. On May 12, 1978, she was united in marriage to Jeff Baxter in Curtiss. She was employed with the Spencer School District as a custodian.

She is survived by her loving husband, Jeff Baxter of Spencer; her daughter, Heather Schueller of Marshfield; her son, Adam Baxter of Spencer and her grandchildren: Carlee, Hunter and Hallie. She is further survived by her siblings: Carol (Glenn) Krall, Leonard (Elaine) Lang, Suzie (Dan) Gehrke, Kathy (Leno) Nadine, Arthur (Kathy) Lang, Alice (Clayton) Gore, Donna (Patrick) Mueller, James (Linda) Lang, David (Mary) Lang, Cindy (Mark) Wasmudth, Mike (Jodi) Grenewald, Jeff (Judy) Lang, Jackie (Jim) Gawenda and Patrick Lang and her canine companion, Sheba, along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert and Lucy Lang; her son-inlaw, Kory Schueller and her black lab, Jack.

The family will be having a Celebration of Life on Saturday, May 11, at the Rib Falls town hall, 1-1/2 miles north of Hwy. 29 on Hwy. S. The potluck meal will be served from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.
