Rita C. (nee Roth) Foster, 88, Milwaukee, formerly of Loyal, passed away peacefully on Monday, Jan. 18, 2021, with her family by her side. Her Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated with friends and family at St. Margaret Mary Church in Milwaukee.

Rita was born on March 19, 1932, the ninth of 10 children born to George and Estella Roth, who were dairy farmers in the Loyal area. Rita graduated from Loyal High School in 1950 and moved down to Milwaukee, where she enjoyed a 30-year career as a billing clerk at the Wisconsin Gas Company. Although she spent her adult life in Milwaukee, she was always a “Loyal girl at heart,” attending many of her high school class reunions and visiting other family and friends in the area. With retirement, she and her husband CJ enjoyed traveling, visiting grandchildren, and volunteering at St. Agnes Church in Butler. Rita was an avid bowler, loved to dance, and pitched for a women’s softball team. She played volleyball and was famous for her 4th of July family picnics. As president of the Butler Seniors, she organized and played many sheepshead games.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cornelius “CJ” Foster. She is survived by four stepchildren: Gregory (Janice) Foster, Jeffrey (Sharon) Foster, Debra (Kerry) Kneser, and Dale Foster.

The family wishes to send a heartfelt thank you to the staff of St. Anne’s Assisted Living and Froedert Hospital for their understanding, patience, time and care that they provided for Rita.
