Jeanette Cole Jeanette Cole

Jeanette C. Cole, 94, Marshfield, formerly of Loyal, was called by our Lord at Marshfield Medical Center on Sunday, Jan. 3, 2021. A family service will be held at a later date in Loyal.

Jeanette Catherine Beaver was born on April 15, 1926, in the town of Loyal, the daughter of William and Clara (nee Atteln) Beaver. She was raised on the family farm and received her education in Loyal, attending St. Balthasar’s Catholic School and graduating from Loyal High School in 1944. After graduation, Jeanette worked in Marshfield at St. Joseph’s Hospital in the admitting office. She was united in marriage to Donald Orin Cole on Feb. 18, 1946, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Loyal. In 1950, the couple purchased a dairy farm south of Loyal, where they worked and raised their family for 28 years. They sold it in 1978. In 1974, they purchased the former Citizens State Bank building and inventory of Helen’s Style Shop, and started their own clothing business, Jeanette’s Fashions. Jeanette continued to manage Jeanette’s Fashions until 1987. She then worked at the Loyal Drug Store for five years until retiring. They moved to Marshfield on Aug. 1, 2006. One of Jeanette’s special interests was cooking. She had many recipes loved by family and friends. While a member of St. Anthony’s Council of Catholic Woman, Jeanette and other women with similar interests decided, as a fundraiser, to collect their favorite recipes and published two cookbooks. Jeanette was a member of the Loyal American Legion Auxiliary Unit #175 where she previously served as president and treasurer.

Jeanette will be sadly missed by her children: William (Beth) Cole of Orange Park, Fla., Nancy (Larry) Krause of Summit Lake, Debra (Steve) Armstrong of Chippewa Falls, David (Kristi) Cole of Marshfield, Barbara (Mike) Bero of Green Bay, and Sandra Tarter of Menomonie; 16 grandchildren: Heidi Napolitano, Laura Brown, Sarah Embertson, Steven Schwarze, Jeffery Schwarze, Richard Schwarze, Scott Krause, Nicholas Armstrong, Kelly Armstrong, Alicia Heinrich, Robert Cole, Gregory Cole, Kyle Bero, Cassilyn Daily, Alexis Tarter and Colton Tarter; 27 great-grandchildren; a son-in-law, Roger (Linda) Schwarze of Greenwood; a special niece, Pamela Vargo of Wheaton, Ill.; and other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Clara Beaver; her husband: Donald, on Jan. 7, 2015; her daughter: Karen Schwarze, on June 17, 1997; one brother, Donald Beaver; three half-sisters: Evelyn Schwieso, Veronica Giesel and Lucille Gelhaus; and one half-brother: Ted Schwieso.
