Margaret “Marge” Plautz

Margaret L. “Marge” Plautz, 91, formerly of Owen, passed away on Friday, Dec. 8, 2023, at Our House Senior Living in Chippewa Falls, under the tender care of St. Croix Hospice.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2023, at the Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Owen. Interment will be held at the Riverside Cemetery in Withee. Family and friends are welcome from 11 a.m. until the time of the service Wednesday at the funeral home.

Margaret was born on Jan. 17, 1932, the daughter of Frank and Margaret (Boh) Urbanz in Willard. She attended Greenwood High School.

On April 15, 1950, Margaret was united in marriage to Emil Plautz in Willard. She and Emil lived most of their married life in the Owen-Withee area. He preceded her in death in 2008. She waitressed and cooked at various restaurants over the years, but retired as the head cook at the Owen-Withee schools.

_________________________________________________________________________________ and taking road trips around the area. She was a 4-H leader and a Brownie Scout leader when her children were young. She was a member of the Holy Rosary PCCW and the Homemakers of Longwood.

Marge is survived by her loving family, including four children: Randy (Chriss) Plautz, Withee, Terry (Linda) Plautz, Owen, Colleen (Dennis) Wendt, Owen, and Kim _____________________________________________________________________________________ Julie Wendt, Melissa (Aaron) Buesing and Mike Plautz; six great-grandchildren: Lauren and Reece Wendt, Jackson and Caden Buesing, Rayna and Suniya Wendt; and a great-great-grandson, Levi Miller. She is further survived by three sisters: Mary Ann (Jim) Drieman, Gwen (Louis) Landini and Dolly Qualls; and one sister-in-law, Janet Urbanz; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her great-granddaughter: ___________________________________________________________________________ ___________________________________________________________________________________ for the lunches of their students or to the Alzheimer’s Association.

The family would like to thank Amanda, Stacy and the wonderful staff at Our House Assisted Living for their great work and support, as well as the staff of St. Croix Hospice.
