Bryon Thorson

1952-2026

Bryon Donald Thorson, age 73, of Lakeville, Minn., passed away peacefully at his home on March 14, 2026. Bryon was born on Sept. 9, 1952, in Stanley, to Donald and Berdene Thorson. He grew up in Medford, where he graduated from Medford High School. Bryon was known for his strong work ethic and spent many years working in the lumber industry early in life. He later worked for TSA security and then continued his career in construction and took great pride in owning and operating his own lawn care business, Abby Landscaping.

He will be remembered not only for how hard he worked, but for how deeply he loved his family and friends. Bryon had a gift for bringing laughter into any room, always ready with a joke or a story. Around the Apple Valley and Rosemount area, he was a familiar sight—often seen in his old white pickup truck and his well-known red hat. And for those who knew him best, his love for a good cup of McDonald’s coffee was just another part of what made him, him.

Bryon is survived by his children, Josh, Sarah and Bryon Jr.; wife, Tracy; and siblings, Roxanne Purgett, Jacqueline Suthard, Mark Thorson, Rhonda (Duke) Thorson, Brenda Behroyan, Wayne (Jackie) Thorson, Billy (Lena) Thorson and Susan Thorson; and many other loving family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

Bryon was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Berdene Thorson; sisters, Linda Thorson- Bruner, Paulette St. Clair and Merry Beth Moran.

A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. on Friday, March 27, 2026, at White Funeral Home, 20134 Kenwood Trail, Lakeville, Minn., with visitation beginning at 2 p.m.

Interment will take place at a later date at Abbotsford Community Cemetery in Abbotsford.
