Anita was born in the town of Maine on Sept. 11, 1928, to the late Paul and Lydia (Krause) Greening, and she attended Spencer schools. She was united in marriage to Laverne Hein on Sept. 25, 1946, at Trinity Lutheran Church parsonage in Spencer. Together, they settled on his home farm and raised five wonderful children. Anita was employed with Pathfinder Mobile Home, Inc. of Spencer, and worked seasonally at Figi’s in Marshfield, along with many years of being a homemaker and helping on the farm.

Anita enjoyed spending time in the garden, traveling and visiting with friends, and could always be found with the kids — willing to babysit any chance she could. She was skilled in sewing and crochet, and enjoyed crafting of any variety, including making a crocheted tablecloth for each of her grandchildren to treasure when they were wed.

She is further survived by her sister, Eleanor Coop of Montana; and her brother-in-law, Don Sleeter of Wisconsin Rapids; along with many other relatives, friends, and neighbors.
