Stefanie Kay Matthias

Stefanie Kay Matthias, of Medford, passed away on Aug. 7, 2026, at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee at the age of 41. She was born on Feb. 5, 1985. Stefanie loved music, art, and animals. Even as a child, she was always trying to rescue animals and people. She was a bighearted person who always made time for everyone. Whether on the phone, over text, or saying goodbye after a visit, she always ended every conversation with an “I love you.” Her children, her family, and her extended family were the most important things in her world; simply put, they were her life.

Despite health issues, Stefanie always stayed

strong, offering a smile, a hug, or a shoulder to lean on for anyone who needed it. She was a beautiful person and will be dearly missed every single day.

Stefanie was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Joanne and Ray Stafford, and her paternal grandparents, Louis and Marcy Matthias.

She is survived by her two children, Faith Matthias of Virginia and Trucker Matthias, of Medford; her parents, Tom and Toni Matthias, of Medford; her brothers, Gregory Marscellus, of Colorado, and Ken Matthias, of Medford; and her sister, Crystal Matthias, of Medford.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 22, 2026, at the Medford City Park shelter by the swimming pool. Friends and family are all welcome to gather, celebrate her life, and share memories.
