Joyce (Warren) Luttinen, age 86 of Abbotsford, passed awayonTuesday,Oct.3,2023, at the Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield She was born on March 16, 1937, to John & Ida (Nuutinen) Warren in North York at the Nuutinen Homestead by her grandmother, Ida Nuutinen, mid-wife.
Joyce went to Section V Elementary School and graduated from Mellen High School in 1955. She married Kenneth Luttinen on April 12, 1958, at the Finnish Apostolic Lutheran Church in Marengo. She worked at the Glenwood Hills Hospital in Golden Valley, Minn., and at the Continental Manor in Abbotsford as a CNA and Restorative Therapy Aide for 26 years. Joyce loved playing the harmonica, family gatherings, especially St. Urho’s Day, singing church songs, coffee-breaks on the patio, going up north and listening to country music.
She is survived by four children: Pam (Randy) Schindler Runge, Medford, David Luttinen, Abbotsford, Karen (Mike) Carey, Unity and Donna (Barry) Fetting Chili; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings: Shirl Scheistl, Robert Warren and Sue Wiener, and many brothers and sisters in faith.
She was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth, a daughter, Diane Larsen, a son-in-law, Mike Schindler, a granddaughter, Nancy Larsen, parents, John & Ida Nuutinen and siblings: Eleanor LeDell, Wallace Warren, Jack Warren, Joann Kivi, Lois O’Dovero and Mary Kivi.
A memorial service was held at 1 p.m., Monday, Oct. 9, 2023, at the Finnish Apostolic Lutheran Church in Marengo with Jeff Iisakka presiding. Visitation was from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Monday at the church. Burial took place at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Marengo, following the service.
