Loyal Corn Festival time

L Loyal’s 63rd Corn Festival will kick off Thursday night with coronation of royalty at the American Legion and a community church service at 7 p.m. at the Loyal United Methodist Church.

The carnival gets underway on Friday at 5 p.m., and the mini rods and Badger State Dirt Flingers get going at 7 p.m. Boogie and the Yo-Yoz return to Loyal with their music starting at 8 p.m.

Saturday will have the Jyllibean Dash and Spanky’s Run in the morning, and the sweet corn serving start at noon. Other Saturday events include a bean bag tournament, pulls on the dirt track near Northside Elevator, and a horse pull at Vita Plus at 1 p.m. The Bad Downs will play from 9:30-1:30.

Sunday starts with breakfast in the Westside Community Park, and the the huge parade starts at 12:30. Red Higgins and Freedom Train will play Sunday afternoon, and the sweet corn continues.

As always, there will be food, refreshments, bingo and much more on the Corn Fest grounds.
