Michael V. “Mike” Mech, 69, Hudson, unexpectedly passed away on Dec. 3, 2023. Michael Vernon Mech was born on May 5, 1954, in _________________________________________________________ grew up in Greenwood, and graduated from Greenwood High School in 1972 as salutatorian of his class. He had a passion for music, both in playing the guitar and attending concerts with _____________________________________________________________________________________ his free time, he would enjoy bowling with his league, going on motorcycle bike runs, watching Christmas Hallmark movies and making his mother’s homemade Christmas cookies. Mike was strong-willed and often had the nickname of “Mule” because of his strong, stubborn personality. He had an enormous heart and wonderful sense of humor. He was generous, loyal and loving. Mike was an avid outdoorsman who spent much of his time at the family cabin: mowing, managing the lake, and determined to get rid of the beavers. He was full to the brim with knowledge about managing his home away from home, which he gained from his own father, and loved sharing it with his children and grandchildren. Shirley Jean Rose, 87, residing in the village of Unity, passed away at home on Sunday, Dec. 10, 2023. Shirley was born on May 21, 1936, in Athens; daughter of Sidney and Flora (Coon) Dawson. She was raised in Milan, where she went to school. Shirley was united in marriage to Aurele Larocque on Oct. 3, 1953. They resided in Abbotsford where they raised their family of eight. Shirley and Aurele later divorced in 1979. She later married Raymond Rose, who passed away in 1994. Shirley was a hard working, loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and the excellent title of great-grandmother to many. She worked for a few years at Post in Owen, and then moved to Unity. She worked many years at Ray’s Market in Unity. She enjoyed her time playing cards with her friends and family.
