The first concert of the Medford Area Performing Arts Association’s 2021-2022 season will be on Monday, September 20, when David Shannon will perform at Medford Area Senior High School’s Red and White Theatre, beginning at 7 p.m.

David Shannon is known as Ireland’s Greatest Showman. His velvety vocals will amaze audiences with songs from Elton John, Billy Joel, Ed Sheeran, Dean Martin, Josh Groban, Michael Buble, The Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, Kodaline, Frank Sinatra, Frankie Valli, and many more.

David grew up in Ireland and has been singing professionally for more than 25 years. He has played some of Broadway’s most famous roles, including The Phantom (Phantom of the Opera), Jean Valjean (Les Miserables), Sweeney Todd (Sweeney Todd), Judas (Jesus Christ Superstar), Chris (Miss Saigon), and most recently Kevin T in the original London company of Come From Away. He was nominated for Best Actor at the Olivier’s (the British version of the Tony Award) for Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Beautiful Game. David also enjoys a busy schedule performing with orchestras around the world. David is renowned for his engaging style and charming personality.

Season ticket holders are encouraged not to miss this performance. The wearing of masks is encouraged. There will not be an intermission at this performance.

Season tickets will be available to purchase at the door. Other concerts in the series will be Holy Rocka Rollaz, Saturday, September 25; Veritas, Sunday, October 24; The Chipper Experience, Tuesday, February 15, 2022; and Frank Vignola Duo, Monday, April 18, 2022.

Holy Rocka Rollaz will be the Medford Area Performing Arts Association’s second offering of the 2021-2022 season, performing on Saturday, September 25, at Medford Area Senior High School’s Red and White Theatre, beginning at 7 p.m.

Take an authentic trip back to the fantastic 50s with the Holy Rocka Rollaz! If it’s the classic early rock ‘n’ roll and rockabilly of Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, Chuck Berry, Johnny Cash, and more that you want, played just the way those legends played it . . . you have found your dream band! Minnesota’s own Holy Rocka Rollaz bring back the sound, the look, the memories and nostalgia of one of America’s most treasured eras.

Nothing pleases these rock ‘n’ roll veterans more than seeing different generations enjoy this classic music together. The Holy Rocka Rollaz play with such energy and joy that people of all ages can’t help but celebrate. The trio collectively brings decades of live and studio experience to their return to Medford.
