Area youth and project supporters got first crack at playing on the new playground equipment in the Medford CityPark. Our Village Playground Phase 2 project was completed and opened to use on Friday morning. A grand opening and recognition of donors is scheduled for June 17 at 4 p.m. The event will include donor recognition, and ribbon cutting as part of our Summer Solstice Party Event.

The Our Village Playground project was created as a way to provide an opportunity for families to enjoy time outdoors. The equipment is accessible and enriching and the surfacing is a resilient material that is accessible to people regardless of age and mobility level.

The families of those who helped make the project possible, including the members of the special education staff and Medford Area Public School District and their families were invited to try out the equipment on May 30.

The official Our Village Playground Phase II Grand Opening on Tuesday June 17, The Summer Solstice Party, will be held from 4-8 p.m. and also feature Our Village Playground, Sun Fun Run or Walk with and without Color Splash, Free Family Swim, Bingo for Books, Pizza by Nestle, DJ music by Woller Productions, Miller and Mike Comedy and Juggling Show, large games, prizes and more.
