ADRC plans open house at Medford site May 14

May is Older Americans Month, a time dedicated to honoring the contributions of older adults, raising awareness about aging, and highlighting services that support healthy aging. Each year, the Administration for Community Living (ACL) leads this national observance and encourages seniors, caregivers, and whole populations to get involved in the celebration. The 2025 theme, 'Flip the Script on Aging,' encourages communities to rethink outdated views on aging by promoting positive narratives and breaking down stereotypes. It's also a call to action for individuals of all ages to stay active, connected, and engaged.

In recognition of this special month, the Supporting Healthy Aging Coalition—together with the ADRC of Taylor County and local partners—is hosting a free community open house on Wednesday, May 14, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the recently remodeled Medford Center (845 E. Broadway Ave., at the corner of Hwy 13 and 64).

Visitors can enjoy: Community resource fair; Facility tours showcasing the exciting updates; Door prizes drawings; A variety of activities; and Light refreshments.

Following the open house, guests are invited to stay for a nutritious lunch at 12 p.m., provided by the Taylor County Nutrition Program. Reservations for lunch are required by noon on Tuesday, May 13. To RSVP, call 715748-1491. A suggested contribution of $5 is requested for the meal.

Join in celebrating the strength, wisdom, and ongoing contributions of older adults in our community. To learn more about Older Americans Month, visit: https://acl. gov/oam/2025/older-americans-month-2025.
