Stanley Reather

Stanley Wayne Reather, 67, of Abbotsford, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at Marshfield Medical Center.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, May 23, 2025, at the Maurina Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford. Visitation will be held at 11 a.m. until the time of the service.

Stanley was born on November 18, 1957, the son of Richard and Barbara (Braenne) Raether in Illinois. For the past 19 years, Stanley shared his life with the love of his life, Marian. Together, they built a quiet, joyful life full of simple pleasures. They shared a deep love of country music and rarely missed a chance for a date night at World Buffet. Their beloved Chihuahua, Lulu, was never far from Stanley’s side and completed their little family.

Stanley is remembered as a joyous, friendly man who was always smiling. He had a deep love for westerns and classic cars and found real purpose in helping others, especially through his work transporting members of the Amish community.

He is survived by his siblings: Eric Braenne, Debbie Sprague, Vickey (Juan) Morales and Roger (Lori) Raether; his partner, Marian; and their dog, Lulu.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Barbara Raether and brother-inlaw, Doug Sprague.

Stanley’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him, remembered always for his warm smile, generous heart, and the joy he brought to everyday life.
