Notice of Public Hearing 2045 Comprehensive Plan City of Medford

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Plan Commission of the City of Medford will hold a Public Hearing located at the City of Medford City Hall, 639 S 2nd Street, Medford Wisconsin, on Monday, June 2, 2025 at 5:00 p.m., to consider comments prior to the adoption of the City of Medford 2045 Comprehensive Plan.

The proposed adoption of the City of Medford 2045 Comprehensive Plan includes a future Recommended Land Use Plan for the City, and goals, objectives, and action items to guide future land use decisions. The plan includes the following sections: 1. An Introduction, outlining background information, past planning efforts, the scope of the Comprehensive Plan update; and public involvement activities.

2. Communities Profile, including values and vision statements and population and demographic information.

3. Chapters detailing current conditions, assessment of future needs and goals, objectives and policies for: Housing; Transportation; Utilities, Public Facilities and Services; Agricultural, Environmental and Cultural Resources; Economic Development; Inter-governmental Cooperation; and Land Use.

4. A 2045 Recommended Land Use Map. 5. An Implementation chapter, including information on plan integration and consistency; plan amendments and updates.

This plan is meant to guide development in the City to the year 2045 in accordance with the requirements of Section 66.1001 of the Wisconsin Statutes.

Copies of the City of Medford 2045 Comprehensive Plan will be available for review prior to the Public Hearing at City Hall during the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, or online at: https://medfordwi. gov/comp-plan-updates/ Written comments will be accepted until 5:00 p.m. the Wednesday prior to the public hearing (May 28th) through a survey posted on the project website.

Any questions, written comments, or requests for copies of the plan should be directed to Ashley Lemke, City Clerk, at 639 S 2nd Street, Medford, Wisconsin 54451. They may also be submitted via email at: alemke@medfordwi.gov. Written comments will be addressed at the public hearing and will be given the same weight as oral testimony. The purpose of this hearing is to hear public opinion on the City of Medford 2045 Comprehensive Plan as described above.
