Dixie Mae Noland, age 80, of Medford, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2025, surrounded by loved ones following a brief stay at Aspirus Hospital. Dixie was born on March 4, 1945, to John and Elinor (Peterson) Zuleger at their home in Medford. She attended Pleasant Heights Grade School and graduated Medford High School in 1963 and two days later, on May 29, she married her high school sweetheart, James Noland. Their marriage was blessed with five children. They divorced in 1993.

She worked part-time as the church secretary and after the kids were all in school, she began her career with Weather Shield Mfg. She enjoyed 32 years there, the last 18 in Customer Service. Her retirement years were even better with adventurous trips, shopping and garage sales with her special friend Geri and anyone else she could convince to turn the car around. She belonged to Trinity Lutheran all her life and had served as a Sunday school teacher, choir member, ladies aid and an LWML member. Dixie also volunteered at Aspirus, the Chelsea Conservation Club, the Riverside Homemakers and the Performing Arts Foundation. She enjoyed sporting events, shopping, decorating, and congregating with family and friends.

Dixie is survived by four children, Ed (Cathy Bohl), Laura (Craig) Peterson, Karen (John) Faber and Ron (Diane). Dixie loved her grandchildren, Danielle and Curtis (Kaylee) Peterson; bonus grandchildren, Angie (Brian) Rougeux, Amber (Damin) Bartelt, Michelle (Ken) Parker, Bill (Katie Smith) Fodrie, Jody Fodrie, Chrissy (Matt) Gustum, Cindy (Matt) Jensen, Danielle (Peter) Ochodnicky and Lisa (Brandon) Ochodnicky. She was further blessed with bonus greatgrandchildren, Emersyn, Corbyn, Haevyn, Matthew, Alexander, Kristopher, Justin, Eli, Brady, Michael, Christopher, Josh, Megan, Jack, Maddie, Andrew, Wes, James, Rae, Ian, Isiah, and Ellie; and bonus greatgreat grandchildren on the east coast, Jace, Weston, Katelyn, River, Jaxon, Kashton, and Kolten. She is further survived by sisters-in-law, Ruth and Beverly Zuleger; and many amazing nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and her bonus daughter, Jenn Steen.

She was preceded in death by son, David; her mother, Elinor, and father, John; sisters, Tilly Neumueller and Luella Daubert; brothers, Dene, Dick and Jack Zuleger; sister-in-law, Lita Zuleger; and brothers-in-law, Harvey Neumueller and George Daubert.

A Christian funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Medford. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Cremation Society of Wisconsin is assisting the family. There will be a celebration of Dixie’s life and a lunch to follow at the Chelsea Conservation Club.
