A flashing sign alongside County Highway K just outside of Loyal alerts motorists that the intersection of highways H and K will be closed starting this Monday, May 5. Highway H will be closed from Cardinal Avenue to Pelsdorf Avenue, with local traffic access. The detour route for Highway H will utilize state highways 73 and 98. The detour route for Highway K will utilize State Highway 98, County Highway Y, and U.S. Highway 10. Local motorists will likely utilize preferred local roadways. The anticipated construction completion date is July 3.

Traffic to be affected by permanent road closures near Spencer railroad
The Wisconsin Office of the Commissioner of Railroads has ruled that the intersections of Park and Wisconsin streets with East Clark Street in Spencer are unsafe due to being so close to the railroad tracks, and thus need to be closed as soon as 2026. Motorists would then not be able to turn onto Clark Street from either of those streets. The Village of Spencer is appealing the ruling to keep Wisconsin Street open.
