Crashes with injuries
On June 24 at 11:36 a.m., a vehicle operated by Brittany Benz, 32, of Loyal, traveling northbound on CTH E. A witness advised that Benz swerved across the center line and struck the front driver’s side corner of a vehicle operated by Sloan Cha Gross, 31, of Tomahawk. The vehicle operated by Benz scraped along the entire driver’s side of the vehicle operated by Cha Gross before swerving to the east and entering the eastern ditch. The vehicle operated by Cha Gross continued a short distance and stopped in the middle of the southbound lane. Benz was ultimately cited for OWI (2nd), failure to wear a seatbelt, and operating left of center. Blood tests were taken from Benz to determine if she was under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. Both Benz and Cha Gross sustained suspected minor injuries.
On June 30 at 6:13 a.m., law enforcement arrived on the scene where a vehicle laid on its roof in the ditch on CTH H in the town of Mc Kinley. The report notes that the vehicle appeared to be traveling southbound in the northbound lane. The vehicle struck the eastern shoulder, and corrected over the centerline, then swerved to the east and entered the eastern ditch, rolling, and coming to rest in the ditch on the roof of the vehicle. The driver is unknown at this time. The vehicle was removed from the ditch and towed.
Two vehicle crashes
On July 4 at 11:10 p.m., a vehicle operated by Alison Miodl, 51, of Maple Grove, Minnesota, and a vehicle operated by Weston Leonhardt, 23, of Medford, were entering the roundabout at Grace Way in the city of Medford at the same time. Miodl did not see the vehicle operated by Leonhardt when Miodl entered the roundabout. The vehicle operated by Miodl merged into the inside lane and made contact with the vehicle operated by Leonhardt. The vehicle operated by Leonhardt traveled onto the roundabout inside curb due to being pushed out of the lane by the the vehicle operated by Miodl. Both drivers stopped and exchanged information. Miodl reported the accident per their employer for insurance purposes. No injuries were reported and no citations were issued.
On June 27 at 4:11 p.m., a vehicle operated by Jose Montenegro Palacios, 40, of Dorchester, was traveling northbound on STH 13 which had a green light at the intersection of STH 13 and CTH O in the town of Medford. A vehicle operated by Raine Hamilton, 18, of Medford, was traveling westbound on CTH O which had a red light. The vehicle operated by Hamilton failed to stop at the red stop light, striking the vehicle operated by Montenegro Palacios. Hamilton was issued a citation for violating a red traffic light. Montenegro Palacios was issued citations for operating without a valid license (1st violation) and operating a motor vehicle without insurance.
Car vs. deer
On July 5 at 5:56 a.m., a vehicle operated by Jensine Reese, 36, of Athens, struck a deer while traveling westbound on STH 64 in the town of Goodrich.
On July 3 at 11:15 p.m., a vehicle operated by David Hoffland, 25, of Rib Lake, struck a deer while traveling northbound on STH 13 in the town of Chelsea.
On July 2 at 1:02 p.m., a vehicle operated by Gina Thorson, 45, of Medford, struck a deer while traveling southbound on STH 13 in the town of Westboro.
On July 1 at 11:45 p.m., a vehicle operated by Ilsa Brunner, 16, of Medford, struck a deer while traveling eastbound on CTH M in the town of Medford.
