Christian Allen, 21, of Marshfield, was found guilty due to a guilty plea of failure to report to jail (misdemeanor). A felony charge of failure to report to county jail (10+ Days) was dismissed on a prosecutor’s motion. Court ordered a withheld sentence and placed the defendant on probation for a period of one year. Conditions of probation include: $100 fine plus court costs, DNA sample and surcharge fee, attend any counseling as deemed necessary by agent, and must obtain high school diploma or its equivalent. Total amount of $579. He has 14 days sentence credit available if revoked from probation. Defendant is to report to the Clerk of court’s office to add financial obligations to current payment plan at $200/month.
Chaz Brantner, 28, of Eau Claire, was found guilty due to a guilty plea of battery - repeater - domestic abuse. A charge of second degree recklessly endangering safety -repeater- domestic abuse was dismissed but read in for sentencing purposes. Court withholds sentence and places Brantner on probation for a period of 18 months. Conditions of probation are to pay the court costs, provide a DNA sample and pay the surcharge, complete a psychological or mental health evaluation and follow through with any recommended treatment, take prescribed medications as directed, and attend counseling as deemed appropriate by the probation agent. Cash bond will be applied toward the court costs. The remaining balance of $543 to be paid directly to the Taylor County Clerk of Courts office.
Mark Carlson, 62, of Stratford, was found guilty of disorderly conduct, amended from disorderly conduct. A charge of possession of THC was dismissed but read in for sentencing purposes, and a charge of possess drug paraphernalia was dismissed on prosecutor’s motion. He was ordered to pay $443.
David Mathias, 28, of Milwaukee, was found guilty due to a no contest plea of operating a commercial motor vehicle without a license - Wi resident. Court defers adjudication of guilt for a period of 18 months and will adopt the Deferred Entry of Judgment Agreement. Conditions of the agreement include: Mathias shall not commit any criminal offenses; Mathias shall update the Clerk’s office and DA’s office with any change of address within 10 days of said change. Mathias shall comply with conditions of his bond, which remains in effect during the course of this case. Mathias must engage in substance abuse and/ or mental health counseling with a provider of his choice and provide proof of compliance with all treatment recommendations to the DA’s office prior to the expiration of the agreement. Upon successful completion the charge will be dismissed. A deferred prosecution agreement was approved for a charge of take and drive a vehicle without consent. Court orders defendant pay a $200 fine plus court costs, submit a DNA sample and pay the surcharge fee. As part of a plea agreement. Charges of failure of operator to notify police of accident, hit and run property adjacent to highway were dismissed on prosecutor’s motion and a charge of operating a motor vehicle without a license - Wis. resident, was dismissed but read in for sentencing purposes. Defendant is to report to the Taylor County Clerk of Court’s office to set up a payment plan of $25 per month with first payment due within 30 days of being released from treatment.
Todd Schupp, 61, of Medford, was found guilty due to a guilty plea of OWI (4th). A charge of operating with PAC (4th) was dismissed on prosecutor’s motion. Court orders a withheld sentence and places defendant on probation for a period of 3 years. Conditions of probation include: $1,935 fine, 100 days of county jail with Huber privileges and good time (Defendant is to report no later than April 27, 2024 by 4:30 p.m.), 27-month driver’s license revocation, retroactive to any administrative suspension, ignition interlock device installation, AODA and all recommended follow-through treatment including Driver’s Safety Plan, $41 blood draw reimbursement, DNA sample and $200 surcharge fee, and six (6) demerit point assessed against Schupp’s driver’s license. Total fines and penalties are $2,176. Defendant will owe $176 after cash bond is applied, which is to be paid immediately.
