Avry Wuethrich, daughter of Trevor and Tonia Wuethrich of Greenwood, was presented the Good Citizen Award from the Eau Claire Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) at a ceremony on April 1 at the Chippewa Valley Museum, 1204 E. Half Moon Drive in Eau Claire. This award is given to a high school senior who excels academically, participates in extracurricular activities and is active in the community.

Avry is most proud of her leadership roles. She is the president of the Student Council; Family, Career and Community Leaders of America; and Spanish Club. She also serves as vice president of her class and the National Honor Society. She is captain of the girls volleyball and basketball teams, and an active member of FFA. In addition, she was named valedictorian of her graduating class with a cumulative 4.0 GPA, has received all conference awards for both volleyball and basketball, and volunteers regularly for the community.

She plans to attend the University of Wisconsin-Madison and major in economics.

Approximately two dozen high schools in the Chippewa Valley and beyond participate in the program and select a student to represent their schools. All the students are topnotch, and DAR members are proud to recognize these exceptional students.
