CCL’s April events sure to bring life to spring

National Library Month events at the Colby Community Library (CCL) include gifts to patrons and special programs to celebrate the importance of libraries in communities.

Plant Kindness

The CCL and Jody Will’s third grade class at Abbotsford Elementary have joined forces to plant kindness. Pick up a pack of free flower seeds to plant, nurture, and share the harvest with others.

Boomarks

In April, while supplies last, free handmade book marks will be available as gifts to patrons.

Eclipse Glasses

The CCL will have solar eclipse viewing glasses in time for the April 8 eclipse. Pick up one pair of glasses per family.

Take and Make Kits

Enjoy creating springtime crafts with the Take and Make kits for April. Adults are also able to select from Take and Make kits especially for them.

Baby Bags

The first baby boy and first baby girl born during National Library Week April 7-13 at Marshfield Medical Center will receive a reading-themed baby gift bag filled with goodies from the Friends of the CCL.

The CCL’s “Welcome New Baby Bag” program is always available for local babies ages newborn - six months. The bags, designed to be a child’s first book bag for library visits, are filled with useful baby items created by talented CCL volunteers.

Free Penny

The coupon special for one free pressed penny from the CCL’s Penny Press machine continues through May. Stop in and select from one of the four unique Colby designs.

Michael Perry

Wisconsin author Michael Perry is returning to Colby. Perry, author of “Population 485,” Truck,” “Coop,” and several other works, will be presenting “A Humorous and Heartfelt Afternoon with Michael Perry.”
