Colby students take in week of fun at National Convention

The Colby FFA Chapter traveled to Indianapolis for the National Convention during November 2023. The crew took seven members and stopped at Prairie Fruit Farm and Creamery in Champaign, Illinois on the way to the convention. The members in attendance got to see a dairy goat farm and got to test goat cheese and goat milk.
After arriving at the convention, the Colby students spent the morning at the convention center visiting various booths and the shopping mall. The afternoon of the first day, the Colby FFA chapter went to Hunter’s Honey where they were able to taste many different flavors of honey and even got their own bottle of honey. They then went to the Cikana State Fish Hatchery to learn more about raising fish.
Later in the week, the chapter attended sessions that helped educate the students on innovation and other aspects of the agriculture industry. The crew rounded out their trip by having fun at the trampoline park and attending a final session to see the new 2023-24 National Officer team election.
“Thank you to all member families, CHS administration and supportive community members for helping provide this experience for our members,” the FFA advisors wrote on the group’s Facebook page.
The 97th National FFA Convention will take place on October 23-26 later this year.
