Guards contribute $100 toward bleachers
The local unit of the National Guard contributed $100 toward the purchase of the bleachers, which were used temporarily at the school. The bleachers were purchased by the Chamber of Commerce when permanent bleachers were installed in the gym.
Tri-City Band starts practice
The Tri-City Band had an organization and rehearsal meeting Monday evening at the band room of the high school.About 15 of last year’s group attended the first session.
University band heard by near capacity audience
The concert given by the University of Wisconsin band at the Abbotsford gym drew a crowd of 1,300 people.

Speed in school areas object of complaints
Chief of police John Nelson reports the Abbotsford-Colby Police Department has received several complaints of motorists exceeding the 15 mph speed limit and urges motorists to exercise caution.

Wrestlers place at tourney
Alan Prestebak and Vic Borgemoen, both of Abbotsford, received medals at the Marawood conference wrestling tournament held at Stratford. Prestebak’s record on the season is 12-2-1 and Borgemoen’s is 12-3.

Abby-Colby discussion makes space search for emergency services complex
The two cities already share a joint police department but talks of combining ambulance and fire departments will be discussed before Abbotsford decides whether or not to renovate or construct a new emergency building.
