One vehicle crashes

On December 24 at 8:30 p.m., a vehicle driven by Joseph Pertle, 50, of Rib Lake, was traveling eastbound on CTH M in the town of Greenwood and due to the fog, the driver was unable to see the roadway and crashed into the north ditch of CTH M. There was functional damage to the vehicle. Pertle was issued citations for failure of operator to notify policy of accident and failure to keep vehicle under control.

On January 6, at 8:30 a.m., a vehicle driven by Judith Gumz, 73, of Westboro, was traveling southbound on CTH Q in the town of Medford when it started to slide on the snow covered road and entered the ditch, and struck a hole for a culvert end and came to rest facing south.

On January 5, at 9:25 p.m., a vehicle driven by Nicholas Fluegel, 27 of Eagle River, was traveling northbound on CTH Q in the town of Medford and was going to make a right turn on CTH M to head eastbound. Due to the weather, Fluegel lost control and slid into the north ditch on CTH M facing westbound. The vehicle sustained minor damage.

On December 31 at 11:07 a.m., a vehicle driven by Logan Baumgartner, 18, of Medford, was southbound on Gibson St. approaching the intersection with CTH A when it slipped on ice. The driver over-corrected and the vehicle entered the west ditch, rolled and came to rest facing west. Vehicle was towed due to disabling damage.

On December 30 at 9:22 a.m., a vehicle driven by Andrew Marshall, 36, of Phillips, was southbound on Hwy 73 in the town of Jump River following behind a slow moving vehicle. Marshall advised that the slow moving vehicle turned off of Hwy 73 and that he accelerated to begin traveling 55 mph, shortly after going through a slight bed in the roadway he said the rear end of his car became loose due to the icy roads. He was unable to correct the vehicle from this and ended up in the ditch. His vehicle sustained minor damage and the front driver side tire was knocked off the bead. The vehicle was towed from the scene. The road was closed from about 17 minutes while the vehicle was removed.

Two vehicle crashes

On December 27 at 9:30 a.m., a vehicle driven by Brandon Homeyer, 30, of Medford was turning right onto Buehler Lane from Woodland Road in the town of Medford. A vehicle driven by Carol Willman, 75, of Medford, was turning left onto Woodland Rd. from Buehler Ln. The Willman vehicle cut the turn short and struck the Homeyer vehicle while both were turning. There was functional damage to the Homeyer vehicle and minor damage to the Willman vehicle.

On January 3, at 2:14 p.m., vehicles operated by James Nowacki, 59, of Athens and Yahir Jeronimo-Cano, 18 of Abbotsford were involved in a collision in the parking lot at 1000 Progressive Ave. According to the accident report, Jeronimo-Cano stated he was looking at his phone and did not see Nowacki stop. Jeronimo-Cano rear-ended the Nowacki vehicle. Both vehicles sustained cosmetic damage. No injuries were reported. Both drivers state they were wearing seatbelts and both vehicles had damages prior to the incident.

Deer related crashes

On December 27 at 6:30 a.m., a vehicle operated by

Colleen Guzinski, 70. Of Ogema, struck a deer while driving southbound on Hwy 13 in the town of Westboro.

On December 27 at 3 a.m., a vehicle operated by Linda Lauersdorf, 58, of Gilman, struck a deer while driving eastbound on CTH M in the town of Cleveland.

On December 26, at 6:15 p.m., a vehicle operated by Heather Kittl, 44, of Medford, struck a deer while driving southbound on Hwy 13 in the city of Medford.

On December 22, at 12:10 a.m., a vehicle operated by Dawn Thomas, 44, of Curtiss, struck a deer while driving westbound on CTH O in the town of Medford.
