Playground open at last Playground open at last

On Monday afternoon, Spencer School District staff, students, board members and Spencer Youth Recreations (SYR) members gathered to cut the ribbon on and officially open the Lunar Landing Playground, after several delays this fall. While the project is not yet 100-percent complete, the school was able to have the installers correct their workmanship to complete the main structure, and last Wednesday, the school finally received approval to use the playground after an inspection. “It’s a great day to be a Spencer Rocket!” said District Administrator Mike Endreas at the ribbon cutting. He thanked SYR members and their families for all of their hard work, as well as business and community sponsors, with a special thank you to school board president and SYR member Jordan Buss, who oversaw the project.
