MCPL Story Time

Bring your entire family to story time at the new Alfred Street location. Children of all ages and their parents or caregivers are invited to join library staff in Athens for this 30-minute program. There will be stories, songs and other literature-based activities during the 30-minute program on Monday, Dec. 4, and Monday, Dec. 11, from 10:30 to 11 a.m.

E dgar Birth announcement

A son, Birch Dawson Lemmer, was born to Olivia and Dawson Lemmer, on November 11, 2023 at Citizens Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. He weighed seven pounds, 11 ounces and was 20 inches long.

Grandparents are Mike and Annette Wetter, Colby, Kan.; and Kim and Sara Lemmer, Edgar.

Great-grandparents are Bobbie Holsman, Bogue, Kan.; Eugene and Margaret Wetter, Norton, Kan.; Tony and Lou Anne Lemmer, Edgar; Gerald and Cynthia Hall, Marathon.

Santa to visit Fenwood

The Fenwood Lions Club will be sponsoring a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus in Fenwood on Dec. 9, from 1:30-3 p.m. They will be at Illusions Bar with a bag of goodies for children. Bring your lists to share with Santa.

Circle of Joy Giving Tree

The Circle of Joy is sponsoring a “Giving Tree” for the Edgar area at Nicolet National Bank in Edgar. Decorations on the tree have a child’s age, clothing size and gift suggestions. Gifts should be wrapped and returned to the bank by Thursday, Dec. 15.

MCPL Story Time

Children of all ages and their parents and caregivers are invited to join library staff on the first and thirdTuesday of the month at the Edgar Branch for family story time. Enjoy learning with your children through stories, songs and other literature-based activities in this 30-minute program, on Tuesday, Dec. 5, and Tuesday, Dec. 19, from 11 to 11:30 a.m.

Pokemon Club

Young Pokémon enthusiasts can trade cards and do Pokémonthemed activities at Pokémon Club. On December 18, from 4-5 p.m., come to the Marathon County Public Library’s Edgar branch (224 S. Third St., Edgar). Free, no registration required Call 715-352-3155 for more info.

M arathon Yard decorating contest

The Knights of Columbus are again having their “Keep Christ in Christmas” themed yard decorating contest this year. Judging for the contest will be held on Friday, Dec. 15. A prize will be awarded to the contest winner. To register for the contest, email your name and address to krautaa@gmail.com.

Birth announcement

Josh and Taylor Ahles of Marathon announce the birth of a daughter, Jovie Joyce Lee. She was born on November 10 at Aspirus Women’s Health Birthing Center in Wausau.

She weighed seven pounds, five ounces and was 21 inches long.

Circle of Joy Giving Tree

A Circle of Joy Christmas “Giving Tree” will be located at People’s State Bank, Marathon. Ornaments with children’s ages and wish lists have been placed on the tree or are available from tellers. All gifts are to be wrapped and returned to the tree no later than Friday, December 8. If you are interested in participating, pick up a name at People’s State Bank or the village office.
