David R. Stuttgen, age 28, of Colby, passed away suddenly on Saturday, Nov. 4, 2023, at his residence in the Town of Colby.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 11, 2023 at St. Mary Help of Christian Parish in Colby. Father Amir will preside. Interment to follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of service at the church on Saturday. The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home of Colby is entrusted with the arrangements.

David was born on May 23, 1995, the son of Robert and Pam (Nelson) Stuttgen. He attended St. Mary’s Catholic School and graduated from Colby High School. David received his associate’s degree in welding from NTC in Wausau.

David enjoyed the outdoors, farming, fishing and woodworking. He especially enjoyed hunting deer, bear and turkey. David was a member of 4-H, FFA and a youth instructor for hunter safety. He had a passion for animals and liked showing draft horses and riding. Most of all, he loved spending time with his daughter, Raylin. David had a big heart and was always willing to help someone in need.

David is survived by his daughter, Raylin Ann Stuttgen; his parents, Robert and Pamela Stuttgen; his two sisters: Jessica (Steven) Bunkelman and Chelsea Stuttgen, and his nephew, Brendon Bunkelman. He is further survived by his numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

David was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Nicholas and Hilda Stuttgen; maternal grandfather, David Wilson and maternal grandparents, Robert and Pauline Nelson; uncles: Tom, Larry and Ray Stuttgen, aunt Patricia Wentzel and numerous cousins.
