The Sackett Lake County Park ….

The Sackett Lake County Park got a major upgrade with the installation of a large pirate-ship themed climber addition to the playground. The project was led by Kate Metz and Kathy Hemer who raised $40,000 for the project which included the ships, benches and other improvements. Project sponsors included the Taylor County Powerline Fund, Aspirus Foundation, Nestle Pizza, NorthCentral Outdoors, Ann Marie Foundation, Taylor Electric Cooperative, Taylor County Sportsmans Club, Taylor Credit Union and the Medford Kiwanis Club. They were helped by lake property owners Bob Whetstone, Dan and Peg Pichler, and Bob and Linda Henry. The ship was constructed in Millersburg, Ohio and purchased through Martin Sauder in Boyd.
