Knights do well on an unfamiliar course

Even though they’d never run on the Phillips course before, the Cornell-Lake Holcombe cross country athletes made a good showing at the meet Oct. 4.
“It’s a little hilly,” said coach Greg “Cookie” Anderson, of the private land that served as the course.
As the lone high school boys runner, freshman Alex Dixon started way down the line in the pack, but after a loop, was gaining ground. By the time he’d completed the course and crossed the finish line, Dixon claimed 24th, with a time of 22:27.
Lone girls runner Emma Wright also placed high, with the freshman bringing in 17th place (26:22).
“They’re both doing really well,” said Anderson.
