Greenwood man faces charges

A 45-year-old Greenwood man was charged Monday in Eau Claire County Circuit Court with three felony charges related to the alleged attempted sexual assault of a child.

Ricky A. Doede was named in the criminal complaint filed by Eau Claire County prosecutors. He is charged with using a computer to facilitate a child sex crime, child enticement, and attempted sexual assault of a child under age 16.

According to court records, Doede made contact with an undercover law enforcement officer who was posing online as a 14-year-old girl. When questioned by authorities, Doede allegedly told officers he knew he was attempting to make contact with someone under age 18.

Doede was freed on Monday after signing a $10,000 signature bond. He is to be in court again for a Jan. 26 hearing in the case.

Medford students are excelling on their advanced placement exams. District curriculum director Elizabeth Rachu reported that the number of students taking advanced placement (AP) exams is increasing as is the percentage of students passing those exams to receive college credit for high school classes.
