Performers have been hard at work preparing for the Medford Area Community Theatre production of '1776.' The musical tells the story of the Continental Congress in the weeks leading up to the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Tickets go on sale beginning June 8 and will be available at The Star News office at 116 S. Wisconsin Ave. in Medford. The performance will be June 25-27. BRIAN WIL1SON/THE STAR NEWS
Taylor County Sheriff’s office expressed appreciation to the Fulcrum Foundation for their generosity in funding the replacement of our Automated External Defibrillators (AED) in all of our marked squad cars. Each deputy is trained as a 1st Responder which enables them to respond to medical emergencies in our county. Oftentimes first on scene, deputies initiate CPR, attach AED’s, and provide life-saving measures until EMS personnel arrive to provide advanced patient care. Also, thanks to the Taylor County Health Department for writing the application to receive the funding. The third generation of Dweebs joined the band just two years ago, and with performing in their blood, they’re going to leave it all on the floor and make sure that everyone is going to sleep good that night. SUBMITTED
Alicia Brost owns and operates Goat Crazy Dairy located in Medford. She took the leap from cows to goats just last year when she realized that she wanted to stay in the dairy business while also raising her four young children.
