The Village of Spencer has an opening for a full-time ROVING HELPER This position performs minor street repair functions and general maintenance to the villageās buildings and facilities that will include, but not be limited to, painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, providing assistance in Water and Wastewater Operations, as needed, as well as other functions as required. This position operates heavy equipment and performs snow plowing and removal tasks. This position responds to emergencies 24/7, as well as participates in weekend rotations/on call every five to six weeks. Must be able to perform heavy work exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds of force frequently and up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects; be able to work outdoors and in adverse weather conditions such as extreme heat and cold, precipitation, sleet, ice, dust, mud, etc; and possess a WI CDL Class B, or have the ability to attain. The ideal candidate is a team player, detail-oriented, good communicator and safety conscious. This position is subject to pre-employment and random drug testing.
