Perry M. Frahm, 53, Medford, was involved in an accident on March 31 at 3:16 p.m. on Swallow Drive in the town of Little Black. According to the accident report, the Frahm vehicle was northbound on Swallow Drive when the driver smelled something burning. As the driver slowed down, smoke began coming out from under the hood of the vehicle. The driver stopped the vehicle in the middle of the roadway, exited the vehicle and called 9-1-1. The driver stated he did not know what had caused the fire. The vehicle was severely burnt and was removed from the scene.

David J. Kaczmarek, 49, Medford, was involved in an accident on April 1 at 7:40 a.m. on Perkinstown Avenue in the town of Medford. According to the accident report, the Kaczmarek vehicle was eastbound on Perkinstown Avenue and slowing for the intersection with CTH Q when the vehicle drifted across the center of the roadway and entered the north ditch, striking a driveway embankment and causing damage to the front and left front corner. Kaczmarek told law enforcement he had been blinded by the sun. The reports stated Kaczmarek was unsteady on his feet and had involuntary muscle movement. The report stated the law enforcement officer was aware Kaczmarek had a medical condition that affected his muscle movements. The report went on to state Kaczmarek told the officer he had Parkinson’s disease. The report also stated Kaczmarek had been involved in recent accidents and erratic driving complaints within the Taylor County law enforcement’s jurisdiction. Running off the roadway, failing to keep in designated lane and driver physically impaired were listed in the report as factors in the accident. Kaczmarek was given a verbal warning.

The following deer related accidents were reported: Dustin F. Krueger, 39, Stetsonville, on March 23 at 8:27 p.m. on CTH O in the town of Browning.

Elaine D. Meyer, 59, Owen, on April 1 at 6:19 a.m. on CTH O in the town of Little Black.

Connor J. Amundson, 25, Medford, on April 1 at 11 p.m. on Hwy 64 in the town of Medford.

Kenneth S. Matyka, 58, Medford, was involved in an accident on April 3 at 9:22 p.m. on Hwy 13 in the town of Medford. According to the accident report, the Matyka vehicle was southbound on Hwy 13 when the driver lost control of the vehicle due to snow and slush on the roadway. The vehicle crossed the centerline and entered the ditch where it struck a sign for the national forest, breaking the sign posts and causing the vehicle to flip onto its roof. There was damage to the entire vehicle and it was towed from the scene. Weather conditions, roadway conditions and speeding too fast for conditions by Matyka were listed in the report as factors in the accident.
