Harvey ‘Bud’ Suckow running in District 13 recall special election

Harvey “Bud” Suckow has filed his nomination papers to challenge incumbent Lester Lewis in a July 18 special election for the District 13 county board supervisor seat.

District 13 includes the towns of Westboro, Molitor and Grover. The special election will occur as the result of a recall petition signed by more than 200 district residents.

“I always believed that if you are going to be part of something be active in it,” Sukow said, noting that prior to moving to Medford he had lived in Stratford where he served on the village board for 23 years, with the last 12 of those as village president.

Suckow enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1965 and served until 1969. He was in the security agency.

See SUCKOW on page 4 “I was born in a rural Athens farm house and grew up in Unity on a dairy farm. I graduated from Colby High school and then attended UW Stevens Point,” Suckow said.

After his military service, he lived in Stetsonville for several years. He owned and operated his own building and remodeling business for 35 years in Stratford.

About a year ago, he moved to the Westboro area.

“I am running for district 13 County board supervisor. I would like to represent the towns of Molitor, Grover and Westboro,” he said.

“I am a proud Veteran. My values are as follows: Loyalty, duty, respect, selfless service, honor, integrity, and personal courage.

I think with my experience I will be an asset to the Taylor county board. I will listen to you,” he said.

“I am asking for your vote and support on July 18. Please get out and vote,” Suckow said.

The winner of the July 18 election will fill out the remainder of the term which ends in April 2024.
