Senior Dining Menu announced

The menu for the month of January has been announced for the Senior Dining Centers of the Taylor County Commission on Aging. Persons 60 years and older and spouse, regardless of age, are welcome to participate in the noon meals.

In Jump River, meals are served at noon on Tuesday and Thursdays at the Jump River Community Center. In Medford, meals are served at noon on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays at the Medford Senior Dining Center. In Gilman, meals are served at noon Monday through Thursday at the Gilman Senior Center. Meals are served in Goodrich at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesdays at Royal Gaits Arena & Stables. In Stetsonville, meals are served at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday and Thursday at the Centennial Community Center. Meals are served in Rib Lake at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday at the Rib Lake Senior Center. In Westboro, meals are served at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday and Thursday at the VFW Hall. Reservations must be made one day in advance by 2 p.m. Any questions, please call Commission on Aging at 715-748-1491.

Week of January 2— Monday, CLOSED FOR NEW YEARS; Tuesday, Meatloaf, mashed potatoes, gravy, country trio veggies, wheat bread, applesauce; Wednesday, Lasagna, carrots, mixed greens, garlic breadstick, peach upside down cake; Thursday, Ham & Scalloped Potatoes, peas, pineapple, multi-grain bread, chocolate pudding; Friday, Lemon & pepper fish, baby red potatoes, broccoli, rye bread, banana.

Week of January 9—Monday, Chili with macaroni, cheddar cheese, mixed greens with dressing, apple slices; Tuesday, Rosemary chicken, baked sweet potato, cauliflower, cornbread, grapes; Wednesday, cheeseburger bacon casserole, green beans, pickled beets (cold), wheat bread, apple cake; Thursday, BBQ Pork, wheat hoagie, scalloped potatoes, coleslaw, diced peaches, fig newton cookie; Friday, chicken a la King, carrots, biscuit, diced pears, fudgy black bean brownies.

Week of January 16—Monday, Cabbage rolls with tomato sauce, country trio veggie, wheat bread, pineapple, spice cake; Tuesday, Mac and cheese, broccoli, wheat dinner roll, mandarin oranges, bananas & vanilla pudding; Wednesday, brat on a bun, steamed onions, baked beans, potato salad, chocolate chip cookie bar; Thursday, Swiss Steak, mashed potatoes, 3-bean salad, rye bread; ambrosia fruit salad; Friday, turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, Brussels sprouts, whole wheat roll, pears.

Week of January 23—Monday, Chicken broccoli casserole, pacific vegetable blend, whole wheat bread, grape juice, strawberries & yogurt; Tuesday, baked fish, parsley buttered potatoes, carrots, rye bread, banana; Wednesday, Shepherd’s Pie, mashed potatoes, cauliflower, biscuit, chocolate cake; Thursday, Ham on Marble rye with lettuce & tomato, minestrone soup, crackers, peach slices; Friday, Italian Rigatoni casserole, green beans, salad & dressing, garlic breadstick, carrot cake.

Week of January 30—Monday, pulled pork on a bun, scalloped potatoes, creamy coleslaw, honey bee fruit salad; Tuesday, Southwest chicken rice casserole, corn & black bean salad, sliced pears, banana cake. Reserve your meal by 2 p.m. the day before you dine.

Week of January 9—Monday, Spaghetti & meatballs, garlic bread, California blend, pears, cookie; Tuesday, stuffed peppers with rice and hamburger, dinner roll, lettuce salad, peaches, tapioca pudding; Wednesday, chicken casserole with vegetables, rice, mandarin oranges, lemon cake; Thursday, sausage links, scrambled eggs with cheese, onions & peppers, applesauce, monkey bread; Friday, cream of potato soup, half ham sandwich, corn, fruit cocktail, blonde brownie.

Week of January 16— Monday, Tacos with meat, tortilla shell, lettuce & tomatoes, peaches, chocolate pudding; Tuesday, chicken breast, cheesy hashbrowns, green beans, apricots, rice krispie bar; Wednesday, baked ham, au gratin potatoes, baked beans, fruit cocktail, dessert bar; Thursday, polish sausage, boiled potatoes, sauerkraut, pears, cake; Friday, Tater tot hotdish with hamburger, corn muffin, pineapple, dessert bar.

Week of January 23—Monday, Salisbury steak, baked potato, corn, mandarin oranges, tapioca pudding; Tuesday, pulled BBQ pork, chips, carrots, peaches, cupcake; Wednesday, chicken and gravy, mashed potatoes, peas, banana, cookie; Thursday, chicken dumpling soup with vegetables, dinner roll, fruit salad, dessert bar; Friday, ravioli with meat sauce, lettuce salad, applesauce, lemon pudding.

Week of January 30—Monday, Tuna salad sandwich, pasta salad with peas, pears, cookie; Tuesday, chicken alfredo, garlic bread, peas & carrots, fruit cocktail, and dessert bar.
