Tridents trying to cut times
It was off to Colby, Sept. 4, for the Lake Holcombe-Ladysmith-Flambeau swimming program, were the athletes saw some success, individually.
Taking highest honors of the day for the team, was senior Abby Fye, who came in second, in the 50-yard freestyle and also placed fourth in the 100-yard butterfly. Senior Liv Repka followed that up by placing third for the Tridents, in the 100-yard breaststroke, while senior Megan DeWitt was also third in the 100-yard backstroke and junior Sidney Heath was third in the 200-yard freestyle.
Junior Nayeli Schilling also placed third, in the 100-yard freestyle and fourth in the 200-yard individual medley. Also in the 100 freestyle, Heath was fifth and she finished in fifth in the 500-yard freestyle.
The Tridents also placed third in the 200-yard medley relay, consisting of Schilling, Repka, DeWitt and Fye.
“All I can say is, that we will continue to grow individually and as a team,” said coach Jackie Bohm, “as we try to cut seconds off of our swim times, to get back to where we ended last season.”
